This isn't just about CS. This is about all the other games that had strong communities that are just being shoved into a MPS. For example, there are all the MIN communities that had their individual portals removed and now their communities will die. CS isn't the only game that's dying. This isn't just a CS issue. This is a server wide issue.
Mineplex: We removed these games because they are pretty much inactive and dead. Players: I loved CS what am I meant to play now.Mineplex: Play Minestrike they are basically the same!
So mineplex will remove all unique game and fall back to a mainstream server with games you can find on nearly every other server?
Great Decision!
I would say the hate against the higher mineplex staff is justified, considering the server has never listened to its community (at least that is what i experienced since 2015).
Wasn’t hiding; I spent the larger part of yesterday coming up with compromises & possible amendments to this update, particularly with community members.
Awesome speech! You deserve a medal! Yeah, I agree with you all of what you said. I especially liked the analogy you made with Mineplex as a castle made up of smaller pieces working together as a whole. The same can be compared to the human body. The brain, heart, and lungs I can say are very important; but the body needs all of its parts to function in all its fullness. And yeah, one problem for us is everyone else's problem. It's like our health - our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. You can't just cure the physical health and expect to be fully healthy. If you lack one part of your health, it will affect your overall health (holistic medicine analogy). I respect that you are not looking at just our community (the CS community) but also mentioning other ones which seem to lack popularity and influence. And yeah, we still need smaller communities since they are the backbone of Mineplex while there are a few popular ones which really stand out. I also like how you looked at the situation from both sides of the spectrum (both the players' perspective and also the leaders'). But yeah, I hope we can move Mineplex leaders to reconsider their options on whether to keep these games or remove them. I want CS to be kept . All in all, very great speech. If we were to elect someone to be a representative for our community, I would vote for you.
I completely agree
As someone who's been in Wiz GI for over a year, we've held the status of being the most active GI channel since the beginning with Slack. We take up nearly 30% of the entire discord messages for GI, and have poured hundreds upon hundreds of hours of work from each of us. We actually made a proposal to LT at a point to outline how our game could be changed to broaden its appeal and make it accessible to nearly all audiences: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cQnS7Yh9IDslKD9xHNCKJIw6anXLwzQ-Km8RST-YluU/edit?usp=sharing
After those times of hard work, we finally submitted our final version of the update. The next day, we were informed that this whole time, since the beginning of GI, they didnt even plan to give us a Wizards update. On top of that, they've known that they wanted to remove Wizards and chose to purposely not inform us. sooooo that happened
It's amazing work by dedicated community members. I applaud the WIZ GI team. It's unfortunate that it was all just thrown away. Hopefully, we'll be able to change that. JUSTICE FOR THE SMALLER GAMES!
Many of us MOBA players contributed ideas towards an update, and lots of us expected one coming sometime in the future. I don't think any of us cared how long it would take, but we all had a hope in the back of our mind that it would be updated, and players would return to the game, putting an end to waiting 10+ minutes for a game to fill up. It would really be a shame to see the game go as I feel it had so much potential. I understand the decision Mineplex had to make, but personally, I was a bit shocked to see a game that was very promising get thrown into an MPS.
My thoughts exactly. When MOBA was still in testing I loved it and I thought it would bring a lot of players back to MP because of it's uniqueness. Even though the future doesn't seem very bright for MOBA, we still have to try our best and tell Mineplex what the community actually wants.
smaller games and smaller communities dont deserve any of this, mp never gives any of us a say in anything it seems and they do whatever they see as the best for the server. i just hope that if mineplex follows through with everything they are planning that they realize how much of a mistake they are making and go back. this isnt going to be an update, this is going to be a downgrade
I agree so much with this post. Mineplex is just leaving all of the oldest and best games in the server even if it's dead or not. Coming from a Oitq player (although it isn't being deleted) moving from a every round game of quiver to a wait for a arcade game is pretty long ngl. Most of these games have communities and people who enjoy the game, and clearly if LT cannot see that, I have no idea what to say. These games what are getting removed in the update are personal favorites to many of the players. This is the stupidest update I've ever seen before.
Although oitq doesn't get a lot of players in a lobby, there's a community behind it. Like the other games. Last time I checked the OITQ Community discord has 160 members.
