James .-. It's a bug mate. If you're alive on the last round and die (meaning you come in 2nd or possibly 3rd) you still get the win and any other losses you get don't count in your stats at all.
thedoctor was probably leaving the game because he was going for the falling block achievement. Once he knew he couldn't get more waves in that specific game (there's a separate bug where if half of the people don't make it to the 2nd wave, it doesn't count in your achievement) he would leave, so he wouldn't have to wait until the next game started. He was achievement hunting not going for wins as was I.
