Basically all of what people here have described, except, for me one thing I look for is if they can respect me. Like if they are actually able to respect me. Not just treat me like a puppy that needs constant attention.
Also kinda what Lop said, I'd have to feel like I'm actually adding something to their life by being with them, not be a burden.
Plus someone who's faults are tolerable and I can live with, because in marriage you with them till ya die.
-No age difference of more than 3-4 years (4's pushing it tbh)
-Decent-looking (not to the point of obsession, but I would prefer a girl that takes the time to keep herself looking nice as opposed to falling into laziness)
-Similar political beliefs in order to avoid relationship issues
-Christian (marrying a nonbeliever is just ASKING for relationship problems down the road)
-No STDs. Also preferably NOT infertile.
-Not addicted to tobacco/drugs/alcohol
-...I don't know if it's racist or not, but preferably not black. It's... I dunno. The cultural situation around here kinda begs the question of potential strife in the future, not to mention it just doesn't appeal to my tastes... meh
-Actually a WOMAN, not a trans guy. I want a WIFE, dangit!
-Willing to give her two cents, generally intelligent but not pushy. There's meant to be cooperation, not full-blown dominance by either half of the whole.
-Financially smart (a.k.a. not going to spend it all on clothes/luxuries...)
-Someone that I'm sure I want to spend the next 60-70-80 years of my life with.
-Someone that I love and who loves me back all the more
-A woman that can keep up with me in a semi-intellectual conversation
-A woman who's not averse to a few kids (hey, I'm only asking for one or two here!)
-A woman who will be kind enough to let me know when the period of DOOM is about to begin.
-Somebody who will be content if we never make it into the big money.
-Somebody that gets along with my own family (and has a family that doesn't hate me, preferably).
