Ouch. That's rough. What the heck is wrong with being religious? We have nothing against those who are not. In fact, we're flipping taught tolerance of those who are not. Atheists take this as some sort of... Opportunity. BS man. That's not cool.
I'm just tired of all the disregard of scientific principles. And don't forget all the homophobia. Not necessarily Andrew here, but I am really sick of people using words like faggot and gay as insults, and then they back it up with their religious texts. Just had a rough day, sorry if I offended you.
I'm Christian myself but I respect scientific principles such as evolution because I am one of the few religious people that believes that Science and Religion are related. (In the Bible it never says Evolution didn't happen) Gay and Faggot where I live are used as common insults, and when you call someone "gay" your not calling them homosexual its like calling them stupid/ignorant. I don't back up gay marriage but I'm not entirely against it. I could see how some people feel the need and I am mature enough to respect their decision.
Nice, Andrew. Like Bucky and Titan, you've lost most of my respect. Can't you just leave people and let them live their own lives? They're not harming anyone with being gay. I'm sorry if this sounds rash, but opressing in this day and age sounds a bit slow to me. Is this nazi Germany? It's just a comparison, don't think you hate jews and gypsies and slovans as well.
.................kill, he literally explained that he doesnt hate gay ppl.
For example, if somebody has anger issues, should you hate them? Answer : No.
If they hit someone because of their anger issues, is it a sin? Answer: well I dont see how not
Now obviously committing gay acts is probably one of the most minor of sins, seeing as though it doesn't physically harm anyone else, but it is still a sin to commit the act (keep in mind, read this properly sin = doing the act being gay = not a sin). But this is similar to your comparison with nazi germany, only my comparison have things which are much closer on an extremometer? extremeograph? idek, point being, the two things I compared are not equal in extremity.
King. He said he doesn't approve of how they feel. He said they are sinning. He did say that you shouldn't perhaps hate a man who is sinning. But they are apparently sinning, said by Andrew.
kill you misunderstood me, or seem to. and lol thubionerd XD. how can you approve/disapprove of the way someone feels? I do neither. they are not sinning to be gay. but as a product of having the feelings of a gay person it might lead to some specific sins more easily than that of others. I personally see this as god giving them easier ways to sin because they were spiritually stronger in the pre mortal life than the rest of us so needed something extra in the way to make it fair. gay people - whether sinful or not deserve to be treated as equals in society just as much as any other person, doing anything less would be wrong. I do not oppress people, it is wrong to do so.
King_Tiger4 That's what I (and supposedly the others who commented negatively) don't respect: saying that sleeping with another person of your sex is a sin. How is it a sin? What bad does it do? If you say you don't have a problem with gay people sleeping with eachother because they CAN'T HELP IT, but regard the act as a sin nevertheless, that's like making gay people retards. "I don't blame you, you're gay, so you can't help it. Sleeping with another man is a sin though." Do you know how that makes gay people feel? They are normal humans, not some weird retards who have to be in shame of their own sexuality. I find it disrespectful to say homosexual acts are a sin, you should really think about what you say and believe before you publish it like this.
If gay people really cannot help it then it is not a sin, if they die they would get the same innocents a baby does if it dies (in my religion, others believe differently). but that is between them and god, not me. all that I am supposed to do is treat them as equals and not sin on my part.
if a person personally believes chewing gum is bad so never chews gum. does that make everyone else necessarily sinful? No!. same can be applied here. I have a personal belief that I posted on my wall. I believe those mentioned acts are wrong, You have a personal belief they are not. you are trying to enforce your personal beliefs on me saying its sinful for me to belief something is sinful. Who is the oppressor here?
I respect your personal beliefs that homophobe and not chewing gum falls under 2 different catagories. whether they are my personal beliefs on chewing gum or not. although I find it rather irrelevant, beliefs are beliefs no matter what they are about - aren't they?.
That's not true. Some matters obviously matter more than the others. In this case, you compared a gum to a gay. Saying that it's (about) the same is in no way correct.
It is, obviously, partially your own decission to decide what you see as a sin and what not. Let me put simple what our problem is here: you see homosexual acts as sins. Of course there are others who don't think so, and some who do, and whatnot. But YOU see it as a sin. We find that disrespectful and, in return, don't respect you for saying such a thing. No matter the talk about opinions and religious points of view - you think it a sin to sleep with another person that shares your sex. And we disaprove of that.
After reviewing your statement I have come to the conclusion that you are agreeing to disagree. You feel I disrespect things via my beliefs so in turn you believe you should disrespect me, which is odd (to me) but understandable considering how you weight values. However I have a question for you, can someone disagree with something, and still respect it at the same time?. Like for an irrelevant example: maybe your mad at your parent(s) or guardian(s), but can you still have respect for them at the same time?.
You obviously can. However, I disrespect you for saying such a thing. This might seem a bit extreme, but I go so far as to say I not only disapprove, but also disrespect this opinion. It is ignorant, conservative and disrespectful. I don't disrespect you for disrespecting things, but because of THE THINGS you disrespect (for instance if you said being a Nazi was a sin, I wouldn't disrespect you, as obviously, Nazis are pieces of sh*t).
