My mind actually came up with a rather weird explanation for the whole sexual nonsense popping up all over the place. First off: the bits are the bits, and some people focus only on the bits. Secondly, the fact that it exists among the "furries" might be along similar lines as the whole "alien babe" or "foreign beauty" things. It's a sort of desire for something exotic yet still... functional.
In short, perverts will be perverts and some of them want to experiment with unusual/exotic beings that have the necessary bits.
On another note, there may be less subconscious guilt messing around with some of the dirtier sexual things (there is not enough brain-bleach in the world for some of those fetishes...) on something that isn't HUMAN (is that racist?) and is much more detached from reality, further separating the personal, fictional lusts from the real world around them.
I dunno. Just a weird thought that came to mind.
