I've been excited since winter break started because Tuesday (tomorrow) was supposed to be my day off of everything. No work, no errands to running, no last minute Christmas shopping, no school work to do, etc.. I even scheduled my appointment 4 weeks out so that I wouldn't have to go the day after Christmas (although it wasn't planned in with my "day off"... I just didn't feel like going). I went to get snow tires put on my car the other day, and they said I have to come back on Tuesday to have them tightened. I didn't see that as a big deal... it's about 20-25 minutes away from my house, so it would be a nice ride and should only take around 15 minutes to do. That still left me with plenty of time to enjoy my day if I went early, so I didn't think anything of it. Well, I went to dinner at my Uncle's house tonight which is near the tire place, and my grandmother's house is in the same city as it (about 5-10 mins away). She meant to give my mom a salad tonight but forgot it, so they figured that since I'm all the way down there I might as well make a stop to grab it. And let's be honest, a trip to grandma's house is never a quick in-and-out run... it's usually 30 minutes or more. Oh, and let me add that I'm with my dad this week and the salad is for my mom; that means that, on top of picking it up, I also have to deliver it to her house which is in a different state than my dad. My grandparents and her live in the same state, but it still means a different highway exit and another stop. Of course I'll also have to let the dog out, which is a pain because it snowy and I'll have to wipe his paws and all of that fun stuff. And might I mention that, since I'm down there, I also have to go another few exits down the highway to go and get my new phone set up since it's in a city near the tire place. Also, due to all the Christmas shopping, I urgently have to put my checks from work into my account so that I don't overdraft. It just so happens that my nearest bank is conveniently placed at the very end of a busy double-lane road, so I'll enjoy stopping at 10 red lights and slamming my brakes 20 times on the way down there.
Yeah, so much for that 'day off'. I'm honestly not that upset about it, but I find it funny how it just so happened that all of that fell in the same day where I expected to do nothing. I'm fine with doing all of that stuff, though I don't look forward to being at my grandmother's house for an hour (I love her and my family and love being around them, but I simply needed an alone day I guess) then bringing the salad to my mom's.
I guess my day off will have to wait until Saturday, but at least I'll have my new phone and safe tires tomorrow
Finally, tomorrow's Friday. I haven't actually said that in a while since I honestly don't like weekends, but it's been a rough week tbh. I'm pretty excited because I'm going bowling with my dad and his girlfriend after work tomorrow night, then I'm probably going to a party on Saturday night. Christmas break is also coming up, so I'm hoping I'll be able to spend time with my friends during those couple of weeks since I haven't had much time to see them lately.
Sorry for not being on at all this week. I had a busy weekend last weekend and I've been sick all week. I went out with my friends last Friday, then I went to a play with some friends on Saturday night and they slept over my house. I woke up feeling horribly sick on Sunday, and I still made the stupid mistake of spending the entire day with them, which made me feel worse. I didn't feel well on Monday, but I didn't feel completely awful. By the time Wednesday hit, I felt absolutely terrible all day and slept from 6PM-6AM after school and work. I didn't feel great or horrible on Thursday, but I had a 5 hour shift and didn't get much sleep after. I didn't feel well at all yesterday, and I ended up calling in legitimately sick to work for the first time ever (I've called in sick to my old job because I had something better to do that day though haha). At least I feel a lot better today... not feeling great, but at least I only have the symptoms that I can put up with instead of the nasty headaches and sore throat, etc.
It's definitely been an interesting week... I started my new classes, which I absolutely love. I've already made about 5 new friends this term which is always fun, and my classes themselves are pretty nice. I'm honestly excited for the next few months of school.
