♕ One Year As Staff ♕

♡ It's officially the day since I became a Trainee last year. I've met a lot of great people along the way and some not so great people, but hey that's life. Thanks to my other 2 batchies for coming this far with me:

☆ Thanks to everyone who has made this year amazing, you know who you are. And to those that made this year worse or bad one day, you should rethink your choices and words, but I forgive you. Let's see what this next year has to hold for me as a staff member. Will I resign? Will I finally get sr.mod on a dream team? Who knows. ☆

Prepare for a lot of math.

There is 192 staff total from mineplex.com/staff (not counting duplicates). 166 of the Staff (Admin, Sr.mod, Mod, Trainee) come online regularly and can ban/mute/moderate. I counted 29 Sr.mods/mods/trainees with the Bedrock tag. At the time of doing this, there are 4,043 players on Bedrock. 4043/29 = 139.413793103. If you throw in the 7 admins because you assume they are on the bedrock server and can moderate it like a normal staff member, 4043/36 = 112.305555556. Those numbers really aren't that bad. As for Java... we can just take the 166 total staff and minus 29, which gives us 137, if we minus the admins, we have 130. At the time of this, there are 2,641 players on Java. 2,641/137 = 19.2773722628 and 1,641/130 = 20.3153846154. Of course, if you include time zones, there aren't that many staff on at a time and then there may be some that are sick, on vacation, taking a break, etc..

50% of threads getting locked - Update

So I finally got a response from the person that did archive the thread(s). They were considered negative and along the lines of causing drama.

How is a thread asking why threads are being archived a negative or drama-causing situation ("Mineplex archived a healthy discussion")? The only drama that happened from the threads was them being archived. There was no flame war on the threads.

Anyone who spent five minutes actually looking at the content of the thread could have come to the conclusion that it had nothing to do with drama. If anything, the archive itself caused more drama than the thread. And as for negativity, I don't even know where to begin. Criticism of how staff handle things is inherently negative AND the thread was constructive anyway.

I'm wholly disgusted by whoever archived it and will be looking into this situation further.

New Java Trainees - June 23rd, 2018

Congratulations to our 2 new Java Trainees!

Augend, who is from the US! He has a wide and diverse set of hobbies, such as playing competitive tennis, refereeing soccer matches, playing the piano, reading, and playing video games such as Halo and Fortnite. He’s been playing on Mineplex off-and-on since 2013, and he’s made many amazing memories with everyone in the community. He hopes to help bring that level of passion to either the Events Squad or Quality Assurance, and he’s excited to get to work as a Trainee!
Joiined, who is from the US! Outside of Mineplex he enjoys playing the trumpet and singing in choir, along with volunteering at his church and engaging in community service activities. He’s a very detail oriented and determined person who never stops until the job is done. In the future you’ll see him helping others and supporting the community the best he can, so if you ever need someone to talk to he’d love to listen.

New Bedrock Trainee - June 23rd, 2018

Congratulations to our new Bedrock Trainee!

PandaFyre, who is from the US! Outside of Mineplex she does a lot of activities that include Hockey, Community Events in her city, or just hanging out with friends in Discord. If she could be a fruit, she’d probably be a plum because the word could make anyone smile! An ex Java staff member, I welcome her back to the staff team as she hopes to be a positive influence and role model for the Bedrock community!
