I rant about issues Mineplex has a lot, and believe me there are plenty, but this server is still no doubt the most revolutionary Minecraft server that has ever existed. While I don't think it is going in the right direction necessarily, it has made so many good memories for me and I'm gonna miss all the good times as I slowly start to get in the work/high school grind these coming months and phase out Minecraft. I've had too much fun on this server :')

My theory on why Mineplex is dropping in player count, and their biggest rival Hypixel is beating them out:
I think the Owners (Chiss, Sterling, Defek) changed the business model honestly. It used to be about working hard and listening to the community, and the player count went up and up because of the Owner's dedication to the server. Then, more people started to be added to the Leadership team and Mineplex hired more game developers and professional project leads (as well as more business staff). When this happened, the Ownership Team became more hands off of Mineplex as they had people to run everything for them now. I really think that Sterling has gotten bored of Mineplex, and is attempting to make as much as a profit from the server before it eventually dies off.
If you don't believe me that the owners are trying to make a quick buck from this server, just look at the Titan rank itself. The biggest perk about it is the red tag, which Mineplex then sells for $120 by itself. There was nothing creative or special about the perks of the rank, and it is definitely not worth the money. I believe other people realize this as well, and that is why we keep seeing the '75% off sale of the century' offer just about every other weekend.
At Hypixel on the other hand, they have been hiring administrators like crazy and have a huge arsenal of coders. However, Hypixel, the Owner, has still remained hands on and is involved in the development to this day. Just the other day, I saw someone on twitter throw him a small cosmetic suggestion involving crates and two hours later he tweeted a screenshot of that change to the guy. At Hypixel, they obviously care about the community's input.
At this point, I've lost faith in Mineplex. There is no denying that it's better days were in the past.
Most leadership members have a portfolio working with multiple organizations. Working for Mineplex does not guarantee they need the determination as other dedicated members to improve the Network. The Moderation branch is stripped off it's reputation, Development is pressured to complete projects unheard by the public while department inequality is ravaging the overall performance, and the Administration is, without exaggeration, in a "crisis".
What the Network needs is a full reevaluation of their hierarchy and it's core features.
Thanks, you put it well yourself. I saw Sterling's LinkedIn the other day, and it looks like he has just used Mineplex to gain capital to invest in more companies. It doesn't even look like he cares that much about Mineplex honestly. I saw that there is a 'Personal Assistant' that works for MP now, which I assume does a lot of Sterling's work for him.
This is absolutely hypocritical with the staff team like no other. They get mad at us for saying that they don't care, but now we have proof they don't.
