Well as you may have heard at TAP… I’ve been promoted to Trainee Management as a US mentor!! I am filled with so many emotions right now, it’s unreal! After being a TMA for 10 months and 23 days, it really does feel good to have finally achieved what I’ve been working towards! I wanted to thank Dean for giving me this incredible opportunity, I am soooooo so excited for what the future holds. I am also super excited to announce that the one and only, FluffyUnicorn_, will be assisting me!

Joining Trainee Management has been a dream of mine since the day I became a trainee. During my time as a TMA, I have had the pleasure to work with 3 amazing mentors who I can gladly call good friends of mine. I have learned so much from all of them and I couldn’t be more grateful for that.

As for my goals and current teams, not much is going to change. Seeing as I’m a Sr. Mod now, I will be a member of the Reports Patrol Assistance team and I will remain as a member of TSS. There are a few teams within Trainee Management which I am interested in and that I do hope to join some time. Some of those teams include the Documents team, the Trials team and maybe even Recruitment but that would be later, mentoring is my primary focus as of right now. As far as any other sub teams go though, there isn’t really anything I plan on applying for, though that may change.

And now, here is the huge list of thank yous. If your name doesn’t appear here, I do apologize.

Dean - I once again, cannot thank you enough for providing me with this opportunity! I wanted to personally thank you for always being there for me and always listening to the different ideas I have. You really made me feel welcome on the team and for that, I am really appreciative.

HuskieALS - Huskie, you have played a HUGE part in my experience as a staff member. Not only were so you encouraging and kind to me when I was a trainee, but along every step of the way in my staff journey. You are always there to listen to me when I have a concern and you are always there to just talk, even when I have the most random things on my mind. You are one of the people who truly inspired me to apply for TMA and you are a role model to all our mentees too. Thank you so much for everything you’ve done for me and I look forward to working alongside you even more in the future!

Corgee and Whif - I cannot even thank the 2 of you enough for everything you did for me as a trainee and after. You guys were essentially the first 2 people I met on the staff team and you were the ones who were there to provide me with the best experience possible. The warm and caring but really fun environment you guys provided me with is something I hope to provide for all of my mentees to come!

Geothermal - Geo!! You played a huge part in my experience here! You are essentially the reason I even became a TMA in the first place. You were always there to provide criticism for me to help me become the best TMA possible and getting to assist you was a great experience, I’m glad that we got to become closer as a result.

Dulciloquy/GarrettTheFaux - The 2 of you have played a huge role in my performance as a staff member. You have always been there to help me improve in the areas where I was lacking and you always gave me things to work for to perform to the best of my abilities. Thank you so much for all you’ve done for me while I was your monitee. Mod Coord is still bad though and Trainee Management is good. :>

Dogester - LUKE!! You have always been so supportive of me, even before I became a staff member. You were one of the first people who told me they believed I could become a staff member in the first place and that gave me so much confidence to reapply for trainee in the first place. I always love the conversations we have and we seriously need to have them more. Ily <3

Cabob - You silly goose! You know how I feel about ya ;) Thank you for being a great teammate in SSM2 but more importantly, an even better irl friend. I’m so glad that we get to hang out together even if it’s in the car on Fridays after class. You have always been supportive and I like that we can have a good laugh all the time.

FluffyUnicorn_ - MARY!!!!! I still remember the day when you were promoted to mod and when I asked you which teams you were interested in, you said TMA. I also remember the day you were promoted to TMA! I was so excited for you because your excellent personality was something that would be great for the team. Now I am so excited that we officially get to be a team together! I look forward to what the future holds!! :d

Twist - Alycia, you have become such a good friend of mine and I’m so glad that we get to chat on a daily basis. I like the fact that I can spam cat pictures to someone without being judged for it and that I can speak to you about my issues. You can always make me laugh and it’s something I’m really grateful for.

SuperiorPhoenix - Chase! You have always been such an incredible, supportive friend. We started talking way before I became a trainee and I must say, seeing the way you were succeeding as a staff members is what inspired me to apply as well. It’s been awesome having you as my MCA for the last several months and I truly hope to see you on Mod Coord in the near future. :)

All my former mentees - You guys are all amazing. Getting to work with each and every one of you has been an experience to remember. I’m so glad I got to know all of you even if I wasn’t your TMA for a long time. You all taught me really important things and it has really allowed me to grow as not only a TMA, but a person.

Other people in no particular order - xAirr, XtremeLucas543, Ygritte, Kanebridge, SavGhost, FriMat98, DuubleFault, MotherOfPandas, Firestar891, Diar, all of Trainee Management.

I look forward to what the future has to offer me as a part of Trainee Management. I look forward to having so many more incredible experiences with future mentees and members of the team! Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way, I really couldn’t have done it without you. :)

Hey guys, I figured I should update people on how things have been. I've been okay, not great, not bad, just okay I'd say. I think today was one of the harder days I've experienced since I found out about my dad on the 8th. I was sitting in calculus and I was a little preoccupied, I am starting to realize he really is gone. :/ I would often go on vacation without my dad so I was pretty used to not seeing him for some extended period of time but now it's reaching past what I'm used to which is why I'm starting to notice it I think. I also had to go tell some people about it which was really tough, some took it really hard.

I do feel the need to focus on the positives though, my dad always did and that's one thing I admired about him. I did start 2018 off well, traveling and being with friends and loved ones. I do also have some cool stuff to look forward to with school. I only started school yesterday (thanks flu) but it has been a good distraction. I have been working on some finance stuff for one of my classes which can prepare me for a government job. I also have to create a business plan for my exit assignment so I've been planning that out.

I have also learned a great deal of stuff in all this. One of those things is that you can't wait in life to do the things you enjoy or want to do. My dad was a couple years away from retiring and he often opted out of doing fun things or going on vacations because he was working. My dad was successful in his career but never got to enjoy retirement... the golden years. I know this is a great lesson to learn, not under these circumstances but I'm glad to be learning this when I'm young because I can start taking initiative to really make sure I'm living every day to its fullest potential.

Everybody has a different thing which makes them happy. Some people like buying clothing, video games, doing a certain activity, everybody is different and that's okay! For me, traveling is the big thing that makes me happy. I do make an effort to travel whenever I can. One thing that has changed is my perspective on things. I have been thinking about things I want to do in the near future and while I have been thinking of the instant satisfaction it'll give me since it's something I know I'll enjoy, I also think about how I'll be happy that I'll be living my life knowing that I am doing my best to live it to the fullest and that I am doing everything I can to make it the best life it can be. We live in a world of uncertainty and unfortunately like in my father's case, you just don't know when it'll come to an end.

My big takeaway is while it's good to think long-term, you can't ignore the the short-term stuff and you really need to capitalize on those opportunities to really enjoy your life. This for the record was way longer than I intended it to be but I hope I did leave people feeling a little inspired to do something they like. I'll also be sure to post pictures from Israel soon, I've still been a little busy with things but I'll get to it! Have a good night. :)

Can you give me some tips that helped you become a mod? I look up to be a mod on here and thank you for your hard work. Congrats on Trainee Management by the way!

I bought an Apple watch today. Seems pretty cool so far, it's like an extension of my phone which is neat. I am ordering 2 other bands for it, the dark teal one since I have a lot of blue clothing and the brown leather strap because I like it. xD

You also may have probably noticed, I'm slowly coming back. I've just been easing into stuff but I'll make an official announcement once I'm back into the full swing of things. Have a good evening! :)

Just dropping in to say hi. I'm also going to make a longer post later, not sure when, but it'll just be about some things I learned that I feel the need to share. I'll also post the pictures that I did get to take in Israel once I'm officially back. I'm not giving an official return date but it'll probably be within the next couple weeks.

Hope things are going okay for you, or at least getting better.

Well, it was cut pretty short due to my dad's passing but I did get to see some stuff. I didn't do much the first day due to weather (I arrived in the morning) but it cleared up by the evening so we went to Caesarea for a bit. The next day we went to Armageddon and Nazareth. The next day we went to Akko during the day and then into Tel Aviv and Jaffa that night. The next morning is when I found out about my dad though so I stayed at my friend's house during the day and flew home the following day.
my family who lives in israel grew up in akko and its so nice + tel aviv is soooo pretty. i rlly hope you enjoyed ur trip and im still very sorry about what happened to you
Thank you <3 Akko is definitely a cool place, as well as Tel Aviv. My friend lived close enough to all those areas which was convenient. He lives near Netanya.
oooh netanya is veryyyy nice. my grandparents live in nahariya and honestly israel is just so beautiful. have u had their ketchup chips??
Yeah Netanya seemed nice from what I could see. I didn't really go but my friend lives in a pretty big house and you can see the skyline of Netanya from the third floor/loft of his house. I didn't have any of the ketchup chips, I had lots of pita and hummus though ;)
yesssss pita. honestly israeli food is incredible. their steak is 👌 . there's a specific part of tel aviv that i adore called sarona. their market is amazzinnngggg. did you go there?
I was supposed to go to Sarona on Tuesday but that's the day I flew home :/ I agree though, the food was quite good. It was really fresh, you can tell it would be by the amount of things growing in all the fields. xD
YEAAA the fields r incredible. and yikes im sorry u couldnt go ) : maybe next time if u visit. if u went up the mountains, u can see wild horses and cows and its honestly the coolest thing EVER i swear. i was hiking down a mountain and i just saw like 60 cows just chilling and like israel is realllly cool man
Yeah it'd definitely be cool to go back. I wouldn't do it alone again though, I found it lonely not having anyone to talk to for 21 hours of traveling and I'm a really chatty person so it was much harder. xD My friend is moving back to Canada in June so I'm gonna finish my visit with him back here. Maybe in the future though, there's definitely lots I didn't get to see.
oh yes the flight there is awful TRUST ME. especially if u fly with el al. they have no wifi and their planes are probably from 1990 or something. but honestly the flight is so worth it bc not only is the airport nice but just israel itself is soooo nice. and yes if u go back go to the dead sea and eilat. both are BEAUTIFULLLL
Yeahh I looked at flying with El Al but I chose not to. I flew with Air Canada and it was on a nice, new 787. There wasn't any wifi though, I don't think it's common for transatlantic flights to have wifi.
some of 'em have wifi. i'm pretty sure delta does and whatnot but oh well. el al is planning to add wifi by 2020 but thats a longggggg way to go. ive never flown air canada bc im basically american. another dumb thing about el al is that the LEGROOM is horrific if ur in economy like jesus. is air canada like that
Well I'm 6'1" so I sometimes struggle on planes. I upgraded and flew in Premium Economy which is like in between Economy and First Class and it was really nice. My knees tend to touch the seat in front of me anyways in Economy but I had loads of room in my section. The lady in front of me was reclined all the way and I still had room to move. We also had bigger tv's and we had like first class food which was great. We got things like hot towels and such which was also nice.
ye el al has premium economy too and when i flew back in july 2017 i got emergency exit seats which were incredible and they gave me popsicles but other than that the plane wasn't that good. the TVs are literally tinier than my phone, and they were broken. they gave us ipads to use but like if i didn't have the ipad i'd be unbelievably bored. glad you had loads of room though. i usually don't haha
Yeah the emergency exit is always nice. I got moved there when flying home from Los Angeles because a child behind me was kicking my seat and I told the flight attendant so she moved me and my sister up. It was pretty nice for a 6-hour flight xD I flew at the emergency exit another time also because I was put on standby for the flight, meaning you don't know if you'll be on the flight until the plane is at the gate pretty much and when they called me up to the counter, the only available seat was an emergency exit so that was nice. xD
ommggg niceee like i love having leg room like when i fly spirit (literally the worst airline) we always buy the big front seats bc $40 for a bit of legroom is soooo worth it and ur 6'0 whatever so i cant even imagine jesus

Hey guys, to whom it may concern, I did get home safely. It was definitely a long journey, the first flight was 12 hours and 46 minutes long and when sitting there in one place for a long time, all you really do is sit there and think about everything. It then got chaotic because I missed my connecting flight back home and I only made my new flight with 7 minutes to spare. I am home though, I had my mom, sister and a friend waiting for me at the airport and my dad's best friend drove us all home. Other family members flew in and were waiting for me at home which was nice.

I also wanted to thank everyone here for the overwhelming amount of support and kind words. It has comforted me a lot to know how many people I can rely on if I need it. This has definitely been tough, it hit me as soon as I arrived because there are so many things to do in the next week and later too. I won't be releasing any information about it publicly but I will say that it was by natural causes.

Thank you again for all the support and love you guys have given me, words cannot describe how grateful I am for that. I'll be sure to give updates and I'll let you know when I've officially returned.

I am so sorry for your loss, I know this isn't what you would expect to hear from me, however I know how painful it is to lose someone you love so dearly. Even if we aren't friends per say, I can always talk to you if you want too.

Hey guys. Not the kind of post I ever wanted to post and I sincerely hope none of you have to create one like this either. I am ending my trip early because my father passed away yesterday. I am honestly not even sure how, my mom and sister were in Florida and my dad was at home. The police got a hold of my mom in Florida, gave her the news and that's when my mom called me. Anyways, I managed to get on the next flight back to Canada. With that being said, I'm going to be on leave for a little while. I'll be back though. For now though, I have some things to figure out and it's best I focus on those. Bye for now.

Alrighty, I've arrived safely. I have some really good pictures which I'll post when I get home! First flight got delayed because of snow but the second one was on time. The turbulence was so bad going in xD The hardest part of all this was not being able to talk to anyone as I was alone xD Luckily the person sitting beside me on the 11 hour flight was up to chatting so it helped a lot xD Anyways, I'll see you all in a week or so! :)

Hey guys! I saw a lot of people doing this so naturally I wanted to do it too. xD

c4734879.png

I’d say that 2017 was a very good year! I wouldn’t say there have been too many really new things that happened like the year before, such as graduating high school and getting my license, but I did a lot of cool things and nothing really stood out to me for me to say that it was a bad year. I can definitely say I have a lot to be grateful for. I got to go on a few cool trips, made some friends and had a great time with them. I also got to go back into sports after 2 surgeries which feels amazing. Playing soccer and volleyball again has been amazing and really helped my morale overall. I have also been enjoying school and doing well. I finished with a 91.25% average this semester which I was really happy about. I was worried how I would find my program because I switched to business after I decided I no longer wanted to pursue sciences and I think it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I would say the hardest part of my year was my job, it’s not always an easy one and it was definitely straining both physically and mentally, but I got through it. xD As for Mineplex, my main goal going into 2017 was to become a mentor and October 6th was the day that my dream came true! Like irl, I got to meet some more incredible people not only through being a mentor/TMA, but just through casual interaction within the community and that has been really great. I know this is starting to sound like a Thanksgiving post but I cannot reflect on my year without thinking about all the amazing things I got to do and all the amazing people in my life who always make the years special. :)

As for 2018, I wouldn’t really say I have any new goals, but rather I’d like to keep up some of the things I’ve been doing. I just basically want to continue playing volleyball, doing well in school and having great times with my family, friends and other loved ones. I guess one goal would be finding a different job, something with better hours and something that relates to what I’m studying. I do have some trips to look forward to which is fun! As for Mineplex, I don’t have too many goals as I am where I want to be. I am mainly just looking forward to the new experiences! I am hopeful that this will be another great year and I look forward to seeing what it brings! I hope everyone has a great year as well! :)
