His legs froze as the two different things looked in eachothers eyes. One was bright, the other was dark.Missy caught a glimpse of zad and shouted, "Run!" Zads legs broke free of the paralyzing fear, and he began to run back towards Missy. A dark figure was hanging in the trees, sitting on a branch enjoying this scenery of chaos. This dark figure lifted a finger, a spark of magic wavered upon it, and a root came exploding out of the ground by Zad. The root wrapped itself around Zad's legs and held him in place. The dark figure giggled as he sang, "Now you see, whatcha gotta be... Now you see, whatcha gotta do..." A sliver of magic went through this figure and into the tree, the tree slowly bent towards the ground. The Being had stopped, it was leaning in for the kill. The Being was crouching, ready to leap. Missy ran in a last burst of courage with her spear. The dark figure lifted a hand and gravity no longer existed. Missy floated up and was flailing in the trees, trying to get back to ground. The figure whispered, "Being... I command you to stop..." The figure was on the ground, off of the tree and the Being was frozen mid-leap with hungry eyes. Zad watch the Being as he looked into those eyes. Those eyes of hunger, of pain, and of fury. The figure stepped into the light with his black eyes. Missy and Zad's world shattered with shock.
It was a new day, the sun was shining above the lakes. The wind was rustling through the leaves, the cold dark road was leaching the heat from Missy and Zad's feet. It was a silent walk for the past few days from this determined pair, they were deep in the dark forest but Tat could not be found. This pair knew the goal was to find Tat, but they did not know what to expect once they found him. It was noon now on the fourth day of the walk, Zad's stomach rumbled. Missy heard it and laughed while saying, "How about we take a break and go hunting?" Zad's face lighted up and he quickly said, "Sure! Lets get hunting." The pair sat down on cold stones with broken branches and began to craft spears. In a half hour, they were ready to begin hunting. They were prepared and they agreed to meet again once the sun set down. They split up. A dark force was watching in glee, it laughed and whispered to the clouds, "Release the Beings." The clouds grew pitch black in a matter of seconds, there were howls and screeches upon the wind. Zad and Missy were far apart, Zad realized that they had made a grave mistake. Unearthly creatures made of shadows and the pieces of ancient souls began their hunt. Missy began to sprint back to where she came, with her spear held at the ready. Trees began to dance as the Beings went near, moving from side to side. The Beings were a blur, they were the wind. The wind grew ever stronger as the pair ran closer to the path. The howls were closer, a surge of adrenaline enveloped the pair. Missy got back to the path first. She quickly shouted while earnestly looking around, "Zad? Zad are you there?!" Zad heard a whisper on the wind, there were voices mixed together, "Run... Run if you value your life." A flurry of shadows, a dark flame, one of these so called Beings had caught up to Zad.
