Wondering if it makes sense for MP to release a 3rd PE rank and use the profits to fund more devs for Java because they really need that right now, and I hear there's financial issues.
Pros: Java doesn't get a redundant 6th rank which angers the community.
$$$ for MP which they hopefully spend responsibly

Cons: Community might get mad anyway
$$$ unlikely to be spent on getting more devs or whatever it is that's killing Java

Alright, but let us think for a second here.

Do you really think that Mineplex really wanted to cut pay for most of the Admins? Do you not think that it would have been thought over, and possible options would have been considered first? I can almost guarantee you that another rank being added was considered. It most likely was not added for various reasons, mainly because of community disapproval, or at least that is what most would assume.

Let us think about this here, this is Mineplex we are talking about. It is a company, the only focus is profits. If adding another rank would make them as much money as we project, they would add the rank in a heartbeat. At this point, I think that the loss has gotten to a point that the measures are starting to get desperate. The sales in the shop are at an all-time low, there is a specific project that Mineplex is working on that requires a plethora of cash, Developers need to be paid, Support need to be paid, the website has to be paid for, and both servers have to be paid for. Those come with ridiculous costs. With the current financial situation, sure, they would be able to make a lot with the addition of another rank, but it most likely would not be enough. Especially considering they are taking as many cuts as possible, such as the $800/month pay for Admins, I really think that the best solution here would to just kill this off entirely. This is a server on a dead block game, I can almost guarantee you that Mineplex will not be up by 2019.

That said, I have to wonder how smaller servers (eg Badlion) are profitable then. It's not like they have more players and I doubt they're making a huge amount from ranks,
