This is close to the basic life lesson I have tried to pass to my girls. But I word it a little different as i believe it to be more correct. Be OK with yourself first, make sure you are OK in life before you look for others. If you are not OK with your self, no one can change that. And its not happy or satisfied with yourself. Its OK with yourself. There is a huge difference.
I also say "A significant other should compliment your life, not complete it." Especially to young people (under 20) that come to me asking me about love advice and the like. And I agree full-heartedly with Combak Medik.
