So after having breakfast and chilling for an hour or two we went on a bike tour around the river Thames. Even though I've already done a bus tour and speedboat tour, I'm glad I went on this as we saw a lot of new things and learned a lot more. Some of the places we went to were Shakespeare's Globe Theater, the Borough Market (and had lunch there), a cool garden thingy and we rode over the Tower Bridge (which is the bridge I took a pic of in my last post, I accidently said London Bridge). Once that was over we took the tube back to our apartment and just chilled here for the rest of the day.
Unfortunately I didn't have my phone while riding around so I don't have any photos for you today. I know I'm sad too. ;c
Sorry that this was really boring, so will tomorrow's most likely but after that it will be better.
All day yesterday we went on an all day bus trip around London going to multiple different places as well as walking around/going to some great buildings.
First up we went to Big Ben which was beautiful, we walked around it as well as going into it briefly:
Up next we went to Buckingham Palace, the Queen's residence. While we were there we saw the changing of the guard (but as I only took a video of that I can't really share it, unless you want to check it out on my snapchat if you have it ;P), but here are some pictures of the actual place:
Then it was time for lunch and we had it at this fancy place and I had the best mash potato and bread that I've ever had, it was honestly delicious.
After that we went to St Paul's Cathedral, which I'm pretty sure is the largest religious building in Britain (don't quote me on that). Even though I'm not religious myself, you can still admire how beautiful the inside and outside of the building is. There were also some great stories about the place which were great to hear and learn more about. As it was a religious building I wasn't allowed to take pictures on the inside, but here's a few I took from the outside:
Lastly, we went to the London Bridge and the castle thing next to it. I didn't really enjoy this as much as the others because most history kind of bores me but the bridge itself is amazing:
Oh and we also saw the crown jewels there which is pretty cool.
Right now I'm just chilling eating breakfast which is avocado on toast and some juice. We're not doing much today and I've got a few hours before we head out. ;P
Sorry that the pictures are quite bad quality, I had to send them over Facebook (which decreased the quality of them) to get them on my laptop as the way I normally do it wasn't working.
First thing we did yesterday was going on a speedboat tour of the river Thames just to get a basic idea of what's there and seeing more of London.
We also saw the Tower Bridge and went under that.
After that we walked to the London Eye (which is so pretty btw):
That was pretty awesome getting to see how large London actually is as well as seeing what awesome landmarks there are here. Here's a random pic I took when on the top of it:
Following that, we took a bus (and ended up getting slightly lost) to the Shard (the tallest building in the UK) to again get a high view of everything, and it's so crazy to see how large London really is.
After that we took the tube back home and just chilled back here for a bit, then ended up cooking some chicken, onion and some other things for a chill dinner back here.
For breakfast I just sauteed some mushrooms and put them on some bread and I'm eating that now and it's so yummy like oml! Sorry that this isn't detailed, I'm in a rush and need to leave here in like 5 minutes and I don't want to be late. xD
So after the 13 hour flight to Dubai I had to catch another 8 or so hour flight to London. Then another hour and a half car ride to the apartment I'm staying in so I was travelling for around 24 hours (included the stopover). We arrived here around 3:30pm London time (which was like midnight AU time so drank like 3 cups of coffee so I woudn't die). My whole family ended up going to sleep around 7pm and because I'm weird I woke up at 2am and basically didn't go back to sleep so yay me messing up my sleeping even more.
Right now it's almost 8am and I'm just chilling having a baguette, innocent mango and passion fruit juice and a coffee.
Here is the view from the balcony of my place:
Anyway that's all really, pretty boring so far I know!
Today I'm going to be doing a few different things, so I'll post about it with pics tomorrow.
