People were joking around on the server and it reminded me of something that happened a long time ago that was so funny I was rolling on the lawn.
After church one Sunday while congregating outside the social hall with our coffees and crumb cakes a black guy drove up across from the church and started honking his horn in front of someones house. He obviously wanted to let them know he was there and didn't want to bother getting out of the car. There were maybe 20 of us standing there watching this idiot lay into his horn for at least a minute. Suddenly and unexpectedly a friend of mine walks across the lawn toward the guy. Claus is a very tall blond German. So as everyone watching, Claus yells at the guy in his car with the window rolled down. "Cut that out you honky" Everyone's jaw drops and there is dead silence. The Black guy in the car slowly turns his head and just stairs at Claus. Claus realizing everyone is staring at him says "What? He was honking" as he makes gestures with his hand. At this point I look at my brother and we both literally fall down laughing on the lawn and Claus looks at us uncomprehending. We had to explain it to him later... After I could breath again that is.
To put it into context, this was in the late 70's. It was an urban environment then commonly referred to as a Ghetto and our congregation was about 50/50 black and white.
Clueless German slams into American racism is why it was so funny. Claus being new to the country had never heard the word honky before. He just made up the word on the spot. Every one else knew and was sensitive to the word in its racist context. Add to that the fact that he was a classic looking tall, blond, blue eyed German calling a very black man a honky is why it was so funny. Claus's innocent blunder of turning the word on its head and the shock of everyone (including the black honky) is exactly why it was... and still is so funny... And it did get the guy to stop honking. I, however was unable to breath for several minuets.
Come on Gandalf, you're old enough to know that the funniest stuff comes from making fun of the pain of serious issues. Laugh or cry. Its your choice.

KK. I expect that's it for me till I get back from my daughters wedding. Two days till I walk her down the aisle. I have packing to do (my suit still fits √ ) and a mother to pick up at the airport. Till Monday then. Where's my camera? *wanders off holding list of things to do*
Back. All went well. The weather cooperated (it was outside on top of a mountain), all the relatives seemed to get along, and rings were exchanged. I'm putting my mother on a plane in a few hours and it will all be over... till they make me a grandpa next year.

That flighty mother nature can be such a gosh darn prankster. Raising the temp here and lowering it there. Random strange weather for no reason whatsoever... I wonder why she does it? *shrugs* Shes just funny that way I guess.
So Its like after you've had a few six packs and you see that dotted line move from the left side of the car over to the right side. Then the annoying passenger in the back seat (me) with terror in my eyes objects, offers suggestions and is generally a kill joy about all the fun your having. To which you dismissively respond "I don't believe in impaired driving" "That line is just moving around on its own". Naturally, shortly after that we all end up in the ditch and you go "Yo. Dude, I think I drove into a ditch. *sigh* My consolation prize of "I told you so." is just not going to be very satisfying. Yea, it's like that.
Frack! Just dropped a 2lb yogurt on the kitchen floor... Fortunately the dog was kind enough to offer to clean up most of it. And yes, as pathetic as it is, "frack" is as cursing as I get.
As the idiot who inspired your post quest I feel somewhat responsible. I do however admit your posts are not completely annoying. The Doc does have some funny. The competition for top voter is a far more worthy and saintly quest... I suggest you go back in time and join earlier to catch up.
I saw that yesterday. Just another country the US is going to be pouring money into and return they will abuse the power. Hopefully this whole things goes as well as the UN's sanctions against Iran
