We have been receiving a lot questions lately, so please read below for answers to frequently-asked questions. If you have a question that is not on the list, please reply with it below. The shoutbox is not constantly moderated, so your question(s) might not be answered there. This thread will be updated frequently!

⋆ General Questions

Is the server be 1.8 or 1.9?
It will be both! Dwarfscraft will be updated to the latest version of 1.9, but will still support 1.8 clients. The new combat system will be reverted to 1.8's, since most players prefer the old combat without attack cooldown.

What voice server do we use?
After a lot of consideration, we have decided to try out Discord, a free and simpler alternative to TeamSpeak. We understand that lots of you prefer TeamSpeak, so if Discord gets bad feedback, we will revert back to TeamSpeak.

How will we advertise Dwarfscraft?
There are a couple large YouTubers that have agreed to make videos on Dwarfscraft once it reopens. If you know any popular YouTubers who make Minecraft videos, point them to us!

Will voting be fixed?
Yes, you will be able to vote for the server and receive in-game perks. More server lists to vote on may also be added. The perks received from voting will be tweaked, and it is possible that voting will reward perks on SkyBlock too!

Will previous donators keep their perks?
No, past donators will probably not have perks on the new server. Since we are starting over, it is best that everyone is at the same level and older players do not have an unfair advantage. You are still welcome to donate once the server is up. The new donator ranks will feature lots of neat perks!

Why were some people promoted to Moderator? Can I apply for staff?
Players who are helping test and set up the server have been promoted to Moderator. All previous Senior Moderators and Junior Admins have been demoted to Moderator, as some were inactive and we're starting over. For anyone who is not part of the staff team (including those who used to be staff), you are welcome to apply after the server goes up.

Why the new website theme?
Courtesy of HighTech_LowLife, we now have a new website theme! This will replace the standard one we previously had, which was not as custom. Lots of changes and additions are also planned for the website.


⋆ Dwarves vs Zombies

Will DvZ be the same as it has always been?
For the most part, yes. Lots of revisions are being made to the original DvZ plugin, but most of the original gameplay features will be kept. Monsters will be given lots of new abilities to keep the game fresh. The shrine, monster spawn, and wait spawn/lobby have been redone.

Will any monster classes be added?
Yes, we plan to include some of the new 1.9 mobs as monster classes.


⋆ SkyBlock

Will we still use uSkyblock (the original Skyblock plugin)?
No, we will be using an similar version called aSkyblock. aSkyblock is easier to use (as opposed to uSkyblock) and comes with lots of new features!

Are new challenges going to be added?
Yes! Lots of new challenges will be added to Skyblock. This will enable you to earn normally unobtainable items, like spawner cages and mob eggs.

Will the old Skyblock map be used?
Unfortunately not. We don't want to give old players an advantage over new ones by allowing them to keep their islands and items from the previous server.

Will the Nether/End still be enabled?
Yep! You will be able to access the Nether and End dimensions. More info on that later.
