So I've noticed a few things with Dwarves and I have a few suggestions for them.
Items:
New effects from oracle's eye [Oracle's eye now has a random chance for different effects than always poison. Glaciation will apply weakness I, slowness II, and some initial small damage to mobs for a short time. Inferno will set all mobs on fire for short time. And lastly, Burst is pretty much the fus-ro-dah from Skyrim, and thus only affects a limited radius.]
This next idea was inspired some of the old Dwarf items in old versions. Blacksmiths have a very small chance to produce a unique weapon such as:
Berserker's axe [After it gets a rework. It's practically useless.]
Shield [Reduces damage you take, but gives you weakness V for 5 seconds so you cannot just switch back and forth.]
Elemental staffs [Hoes that will make a pulse of particles corresponding to that element within a certain radius. Fire will ignite, Water will damage, earth will slow, and air will knockback.]
Fire crackers [Will temporarily attract NPC mobs to it.]
Grave digger's shovel [Will do extra damage to undead mobs.]
Keep in mind that these are very rare chances to get.
Castles
I've noticed that Dwarves have to rely almost solely on the barricades for defense, but I'm not sure on what to do to fix this. Idealy, the castles should be as that there was ways to easily access different parts of it (For dwarves), multiple floors, areas for archers to shoot from, towers, outer walls, and 10-15 block thick walls. To get a visual of this, my best that I can provide you is seeing Rob Gallon's (oldmanwillakers) original DvZ videos. (Back in 1.2.5) As a mob, I will admit that taking over the castle as it is right now is quite easy.
Spiffing up the server
This is mostly simple things to spiff up the server a bit.
When either Dwarves or Mobs win, a sound plays.
A puff of smoke appears whenever a mob spawns at their spawn.
Whenever a mob evolves, the sound "remedy.ogg" plays to the mob that evolved, and to those around them in a small radius.
chestopen.ogg plays when you open the nexus
Replace zombies block breaker sound to woodbreak.ogg
When ever a mob right clicks, they make their respective idle sound
The shrine explodes with some blocks sent flying when mobs win, and particles appear around the shrine and any broken tables reappear if Dwarves win
travel.ogg plays in a small radius when an Enderman creates a portal
