Right. So to anyone reading this, I had what some other players and I thought was a neat idea. This would be a seperate server on dwarfscraft titled "War on Zombies." Since I am bad at explaining things, I'll break it up into parts.
MAIN IDEA:
Dwarves all over Middle Earth have been losing strongholds to the monster threat, they emerge from various lairs scattered deep underground and destroy entire fortresses and their lands within a matter of days. The Dwarves hold a council, deciding that in order to stop the monsters they must take the fight to them. The major dwarven stronghold of (insert cool name here sorry I'm bad with names..) begins to send troops to combat the monsters in their lairs, and the monsters attempt to take fortresses held by dwarves.
GAMEPLAY:
Unlike normal DvZ, the lairs/strongholds would remain untouched centrally. The dwarves will build walls, shops, farms, etc in a designated area around the shrine and castle in the center. They will have an economy, and no set time for equipping building etc. It will be a bit like a town on a towny server in essence. The monsters will have similiar things, such as claws, plating, etc. they can trade, buy, and make. Lairs would have no area for , but would be deep underground. Players come come on at any time and attempt to take the central point, (shrine for dwarves, dark altar for monsters) of the other faction's base. To prevent late night captures unfairly, at least 10 people must be inside the shrine/altar to take it. Taking an altar means that 10 players would stand inside a radius and capture it. Capturing the altar/shrine would put that zone under control of the monsters/dwarves. There would be however many Fortresses/Lairs the staff would want, ideally more than 3 per faction. Between the bases would be roads, tunnels for monsters, and generally the outside world. Players could mine ores, chop wood, etc to create their own materials. There would be no Nether, or End Portals. And some items might be banned to prevent cheaty traps/dishonorable tactics. All the normal things from DvZ, spellbooks, the Nexus, classes, would be present. They would be altered to fit the scenario though. Such as the nexus containing default gear for starters, and an infinite supply of food for either monsters/dwarves depending on who controlled it. Books would likely work the same, helping shop owners of defense builders in their daily tasks.
PLUGINS/CODING BEHIND IT:
This sounds difficult. I don't know coding. But I can recommend some plugins. The current DvZ code could help, and Towny would work for the forts/lairs thing with some modifying? I hope this is feasable, but like I told people on DvZ I don't think the admins/owner will want to work on this.
