We gain many reports both in-game and out of the game on the forums and a lot of the time, we can't do anything due to there not being enough evidence or the reason for which you are reporting isn't even punishable. This thread will tell you what to report for, how to approach the rule breaker and what alternatives there are if there are no staff about.
What would you classify as rule breaking?
- Any form of hack.
- Bad/excessive language
- Excessive caps
- Any form of spam (Chat flooding/keyspam/random keyspam)
- Staff disrespect as well as player disrespect
- Advertising
- Build trolling
- Griefing
- Emptying the nexus
- Scamming (Skyblock only)
One of the biggest things we come across with in game reports is the shouting out of the rule breaker. This should not be done. If you use the /list command or hit the tab key on your keyboard, you can look to see if there are any staff online, if there is a staff member online, you should use the command /msg followed by the staff's name and the message in which you state the rule breaker and what rule they are breaking and if possible, their rough location in the game. For example, if ACLNauney was hacking and you see her hacking and I am online, you should message me with a message similar to this;
/msg mullet580 ACLNauney is using fly hacks on the monster bridge
This allows us to look into the situation without the rule breaker knowing, if you tell a staff member in the public chat, the rule breaker might stop and we wouldn't be able to do anything as we didn't see them do anything and they may continue to break the rules in the future when there are no staff on so it is crucial to make sure you message a staff member.
If there isn't a staff member online in game, then check on our teamspeak server and poke them or even join their channel and notify them. Our teamspeak IP is ts.dwarfscraft.com:9995 and if you don't already have teamspeak, it can be downloaded here at www.teamspeak3.com/teamspeak-download.php
If there ISN'T a staff member on teamspeak or in game, then you are required to do the following to make reporting a player easier for us to deal with.

When making a report, it is crucial that you provide us with the correct evidence. When reporting chat violations, a simple screenshot is all that is required. It shouldn't be cropped so we know it isn't edited and you can upload it either by clicking "attatch file" at the bottom of your post or uploading the image to www.imgur.com and providing us with the link that will redirect us to your picture. If you do not know where minecraft screenshots are saved, click
When reporting a hacker, a griefer, a build troller or someone emtying the nexus, it is better to provide a video. A screenshot will be okay in some cases but sometimes, a screenshot won't provide us with enough proof, where as a video will give us more than enough and will support your case a much more solid piece of evidence. There are many types of recording software out there. If you are looking for a good quality, paid recording software, then I would recommend FRAPS which can be found at www.fraps.com . If you are only looking for something free, the I would suggest Bandicam which can be found at www.bandicam.com . When you have recorded the violation, upload it to www.youtube.com and use the upload feature to upload it. You can then provide us with the link to that video or embed the video into your message.
Hopefully, your reports will be made much easier for us staff and will become much clearer for to understand. If you have any questions on reporting a player, feel free to drop me a message or any other staff on the forums.
