My Dwarfscraft DvZ Suggestions
First off, I want to say thank you to the staff who made it possible enjoy an "older" style DvZ server once again. The direction that Rob took DvZ on his server just ruined the whole game for me and I really appreciate the version you guys have renewed. Now for my two suggestions to make it even better:
1. Give Tailor blocks again.
-In the previous versions of DvZ it was a staple for each dwarf profession to have a "shop" they could build and cater to other dwarves through. I'm aware the tailor doesn't really need a "shop" because their job has been converted to a GUI (more on this later), but perhaps you can give a reason why. For example: Use the leather gained in the farms to craft armor on anvils instead of a boring GUI click to create the armor. This point leads into my 2nd suggestion.
2. Remove the Nexus.
-I'm aware this is a very controversial suggestion but hear me out... To me, the best part of DvZ was going around shop to shop and getting equipped to fight the monsters. Walking through the giant dwarven city in-progress with many shops and familiar faces was so exciting. Each shop was easily identifiable through the blocks it was created with. The interaction between Dwarves had been almost completely removed besides the potion splashing on each other. I want to see competition between professions and more Dwarf-on-Dwarf interaction. Maybe add a currency system that by doing your job you get the currency then trade with other dwarfs via a right-click. Right now, I feel like I spend all my pre-monster time in a GUI sitting at the alter. It's not as fun as it used to be when you could walk around to each shop to get suited up. It gave the game more of a role-play feeling. The Nexus, while sounding very cool and efficient, has effectively taken out a core part of DvZ. Please, just give me a reason to run around the city and explore rather than sitting in a GUI at the alter. In conclusion, I want more of a "vender" role-playing type feel implemented to obtain my items, rather than a boring GUI.
3. Increase the monster release time to 20 minutes from 15.
-15 minutes isn't even a full Minecraft day! I've played 4 games and I always still find my self getting ready while the Wither battle is happening. DvZ is supposed to be a large time commitment with games lasting up to 1 hour! The games feel rushed. Because of this lower time, I've also never seen a fully completed Dwaren City/Fortress yet. Please consider adding more time for the dwarfs to prepare.
Those are my 3 suggestions. Thank you for reading them, and I hope you consider adding them to an already awesome gamemode!
QUESTION: Do you like my idea of having a more vendor (shop oriented) way of obtaining your gear in the pre-monster phase?
