In DVZ, there are 5 classes that you could be randomly assigned. Those classes are builder, blacksmith, tailor, enchanter, and baker. In this article we are going to be focusing on the baker. Bakers are the unsung heroes of DVZ. Without out bakers, DVZ would not be the same. By not be the same I mean everybody would starve to death. Bakers give people food, the people eat the food, and they fight monsters while eating food. This is the guide to being the best baker you can be so you can help support the dwarfs stronghold as long as you can with those small dwarf arms.
Right when you start and you realize that you are a baker you have one main priority. Make that bakers shop. No, you can't take a little break to talk in the chat about the biome, or complain about your rank, or not even to smell the cabbages. You want to find a nice open area to start building your bakers shop. When you are building as fast as your little dwarfs arms can you have to remember to not think about the area inside, but the perimeter. You want the largest perimeter you can get but to still be able to make a floor and ceiling. If you don't make the floor bakers block theirs a really high chance a feisty midget (dwarf) is going to dig into your nice little bakers shop. Once you have made your bakers shop Noobs will be on the perimeters, begging for food. Remember, its not food time yet. Imidiatly after the construction of the shop go into the nexus. No you can't take a break to talk about the biome, or complain about your class, or even to smell the cabbages. If you have gone fast enough you will see a nice bundle of sugar sitting right in the nexus, there for you to take. Keep searching in the nexus for a while, collecting sugar and wheat, armor crystals and weapons, the usual.
Once you have collected enough sugar, its now time to give all of those hungry noobs outside your shop a little snack. Left click the magic book that you start with to make tons of cake and bread. Don't give the noobs bread, but place cake along the perimeter of your shop. If instead of eating the cakes if they break it, just ignore them and place more. If you get upset by this remember, its not you that gonna starve. After you set aside a considerable amount of food aside for yourself, place the rest of the bread into the nexus. Don't put all of the bread in the nexus in big stacks though. Then some people get tons and a lot of people get nothing. Put the bread in like in stacks of 16 to 32.
Repeat this process a few times in till you have a considerable amount of enchantment books. Once you have a lot of enchantment books click the portal block to tp to the middle. Be sure to know how to get back to your shop before you do so.
Using the armor and weapons you have collected, go to an anvil and start enchanting your items. Besure to use the more powerfull enchantment books on the legs and body, while the smaller ones on the feet and head. Once you do this it will almost be time for the wither boss to spawn. You have 4 choices.
1: Go out on the bedrock path and fight on the front lines.
2: Stay in your shop and keep supplying cake.
3: Stay in the middle and protect the enchantment tables.
4: Smell the cabbages.
If you have followed this tutorial you have officially not failed as a baker. You have done your part and beyond for your dwarf fortress. After you are done being a baker its up to you what you want to do. I hope you found this article helpful.
